The ginger cat.

Poor thing! :'(

The war in Syria not only affects innocent human beings but also harmless kittehs.

Stop it already, guys.

Passion.

You know that saying, "if you can find a job that you enjoy doing, you don't ever have to work again."

Most of the time I heard it from a celebrity. Yea, who wouldn't enjoy your job, dear rich and famous.

It got me thinking. I don't have a passion for accounting. Sure, I like it, sometimes. But I'm never passionate enough to, you know, get me jumping out off bed every morning. I don't really look for any news regarding the field, I didn't cry when David Tweedie decided to retire & I fell asleep halfway through reading any news article in the business section of BBC News iPhone app.

It dawned on me a couple of months back when I was studying for my exams. I have decided that my true passion is cats. Haha. But how can I turn that passion into an acceptable day job that would stop Dad from complaining? I would love to open up a shelter home for stray cats in Malaysia but hey, I'm no daughter of a Tan Sri. I'd have to work my butt off to raise the money.

I guess I became more certain about my passion after tonight's little 'walk' on the Facebook timeline. A friend of mine shared a photo of an adult ginger cat. I think someone hit its back so hard that its backbone broke. Or maybe it got hit by a car. Or a bomb. The caption's in Arabic so I don't know what it says. Judging by the way the cat stands, I could see that it is in a lot of pain.

Prior to that, I watched the infamous video of a group of young samsengs robbing a cyber cafe. That was sad to watch.

But the picture of the cat got me crying. T___T Kesiannyaaaaaaaaa..

If I have the power and the money, all those people who were/are cruel to animals will go to jail and never be let out ever.

I likez cats. I want to work with them, everyday :3
But working with cats couldn't possibly be my day job, realistically. Dad will kill me. Haha.

Good neighbor my butt.

Today was my first day of fasting because I was 'fortunate' enough to have my those days of the month when Ramadhan came. So everything was going great, I wasn't tired, I was cleaning the house, had the usual conversations with zee the better half and it was like any other days and surprisingly, I didn't really think a lot about food.

Aina and I got burgers for our iftar and I was just getting started on my burger when the buzzer went off. We assumed it was that kid who wants his ball back after he kicked it way too high and it ended up in our compound. So we ignored it and continued to watch an awesome Hayao Miyazaki movie. And then it went off again. So I let that 'kid' in by pressing the button on the intercom and went to the lounge to tell this kid to shove off.

And then, through the garden door, came in this tall, blonde guy, wearing a body fit short sleeved army-green shirt, with an army-green khakis pants. He was good looking. And there I was, in my faded jeans, Hard Rock t shirt and a face that might suggest that I haven't showered for days.

He had a strong Russian accent when he spoke.

This is how the conversation went (not precisely, but you get my point)

Guy : Hi there.

Me : Yes?

Guy : Hi, I live next door at number 33. I wonder if you have got any of my mail because I've been waiting for an important letter.

Me : Yea, we normally receive your mail, like your electricity bills. But we haven't got anything new today. How long have you been waiting for this letter?

Guy : About three weeks. I've asked them to resend the letter but I never got it and it has been a long time now.

Me : Who's the letter from?

Guy : The bank, Lloyds TSB.

Aina signaled me from inside to get his full name.

Me : OK, what's your full name?

Guy : *smiles* My phone number?

Me : (Dalam hati : yes, please. HAHAHA JK) No, your full name.

Guy : Stanis Masklovas (I think)

Me : OK, let me check if we've got your letters okay, and then I'll come over if I found anything.

And it turned out there were tonnes, like 10 letters addressed to number 33 that we've chucked in a Zara box outside out door. That Zara box is where we put all the letters and catalogues and magazines addressed to the previous tenants. So I think it has became a habit that we just throw anything that are not addressed to us. So I did the walk of shame to the next door and knocked on the door. So, Mr Neighbor was very grateful and I was very apologetic for not being attentive to the addresses written on the envelopes, as a good neighbor should be.

Guy : Thank you. This is like a big present to me.

You're welcome, Stanis.

These people need help... Stat.

I just can't understand a certain kind of people who seems to feed on other people's failure.

I'm not gonna lie, if I passed an exam for example, and a friend failed, I tend to feel good about myself and at the same time, relieved that I'm not in his/her situation.

But, honestly, it's not like I WANT them to fail or I would feel victorious if they happen to fail all the subjects. Don't you want your friends to pass so that you can celebrate together? I mean, don't you want your friends to be happy?

To me, these people are despicable. And something is wrong inside their heads. Well yea, there must be something wrong for the fact that they think that they get a pot of gold and a unicorn if they succeed and their friends don't. Sick people. And a sick form of motivation if you ask me.

In a nutshell, good luck guys, ACCA results are gonna be out in less than a month.

Ciao, Venezia!

Venice in bullet points :

  • Hot.
  • Bring lots of sun block lotion.
  • Wear white.
  • Don't wear multiple layers of clothing.
  • You have to be prepared to do a LOT of walking.
  • For photographers of Instagramers (IGers??), Burano Island is a must-go destination.
  • Only some of Italian guys are hot.
  • The guys who work on the water taxi or gondolas looked like over-cooked prawns as a result of long exposure to sun.
  • I am sick of pizza. Especially margherita pizza and quatro funghi.
  • If your hotel is in Venice itself, you're gonna save a lot of transportation money.
  • Out of the three days we traveled from Mogliano Veneto to Venezia St. Lucia by train, out tickets were only inspected ONCE! Pendek kata, kalau berani, no need to buy tickets, travel secara haram.
  • Veneto Designer Outlet offered more choices than Bicester Village outlet.
  • Gondola rides cost  €28 for a 40 minutes ride. So tak naik. Haha.
  • There were abundance of Gelato shops! And a single scoop on a cone costs
  • €1.20.
  • Best jugakla Venice.

Just when you thought East London is safe..

What I'm about to write might be contextually different from the title.

I was drying my hair with the hair dryer (redundant much?) in my room and Aina was out to pick up her friend at the tube station. When I was about to finish I heard the buzzer. It wasn't a repetitive kinda buzz that goes "buzz..buzz..buzz" but instead it was an annoying long buzz like someone who was desperately trying to get in the flat. BBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. In my mind, I immediately thought that it must have been Aina who forgot to bring her keys and she's been buzzing since forever because I couldn't hear anything over my cheap hair dryer.

So I went to the phone that's connected to the buzzer to confirm that it was indeed Aina. So I went, "Woooiii!"
Skali kau, makcik second floor rupanya. HAHAHA.

She asked if I could open my door for her. I guess she has been knocking but again, my hair dryer made me temporary deaf.

She said that the front gate has been left open with a brick to prevent it from shutting properly. Earlier Aina and I let in a couple of kids because they kicked their ball into our flat compound, and the only access to that compound is by climbing out of the windows. So the kids had to go inside our house, and go out of the window to get their stupid ball. That was not the first time. It's been like 5 times already, I think. Those little brats tried to be clever and stuck a brick in between the gates so that they get in and out of the flat easily. What a bunch of monkeys.

Segway to a story about the kids.. These kids have no manners at all. If they want their ball, they would buzz our house for like forever! And it is annoying as hell. It never occurred to them that nobody's home or people are at work or other shiz. And then, if we ignored the buzzer, they will start to yell, "EXCUSE ME, CAN WE HAVE OUR BALLS BACK?" AND they will start to bang the gate! I swear if I'm not scared of their parents, I would have gone all cursing in their faces! Hahah.

OK back to the old lady from the second floor. She had asked us to be more vigilant because two weeks ago, someone's house has been broken into by a European while that person is in the house! Then she made a rather racist remark on how the Europeans could not be trusted. I think she meant Eastern European, not like Italian or French European.

I kept trying to explain to her, if it's true that there was a brick at the gate, Aina would've noticed and removed it. But she kept understanding me saying that Aina was the one who left the gate open. I think my English wasn't so good, she's the native speaker I can't say her English was bad. Haha. What puzzled me was when on Earth did those kids put the brick? She came down and talk to me after Aina had left the house and that was why I was very confuse as to why Aina didn't see the brick.

I don't think it's the race that's the problem. I think the people who live here in East London is the problem. There are foreigners in Central London as well, but they're different from the ones here. They're a lot more educated and a bit more well-off. You can see that by the way these people dress themselves. I'm not into judging people based on appearance, but when you don't know somebody and need a quick scan of what they're possibly like, their clothes can give you some information. I'm not saying that ALL East Londoners are like that, I've met a few men and women on their way to work and they looked decent. And they looked like they wash themselves on a regular basis.

In conclusion :

STUPID KIDS. I swear if they ever get their ball in our flat again, I'm gonna give them my best death stare.

Right when I'm about to study...

Just a spill of what's in my mind recently :

1. I became aware of 'fair trade' goods when my P1 lecturer, John, talked about it in class. I always saw the fair trade logo on groceries stuff such as eggs, coffee, sugar etc. I never knew what it was. Apparently, the stuff that has that logo on it is said to be 'responsibly sourced'. They don't use child labour, they paid the foreign 'cheap' labour at/above minimum wage and stuff like that. John said that if we consume products that doesn't have that logo (usually cheap products) we're irresponsible ourselves for feeding money to the company that operates unethically. The problem now is.... fair trade products are expensive! It's expensive to be a good citizen!

2. Including last night's, I have had two dreams of me getting married. Last night, I saw myself wearing a dark green dress with silver beads. Fortunately I got married to the same guy in both dreams.

3. I don't mind cleaning the house PROVIDED I'm the only one making the mess. Boy, you thought everybody's gone mature once they hit 20. Am I wrong or what. When I complain about this, people would say, "you have to confront that person." Well guess what? I did. And apparently one confrontation did close to nothing and maybe I have to make it a habit, confronting that person on a daily basis. I guess people are right, age is just a number.

4. How can people eat Herbalife every single day? I've been taking it for only 3 days and I'm dead bored of it already.

5. Responsibility is not a hereditary trait, apparently.

6. I miss hugging a kitty cat.

7. I have trouble figuring out what font I used for my previous posts.

8. Blogger's new layout is confusing me!

9. Young the Giant is awesome.

10. Here's #10 for completeness sake.

Toodles!

Terima kasih, Ya Allah.

Some people are just ungrateful. They got excellent grades and job offers come rolling to their feet. Not from small companies but big, international company. Instead of accepting 1 of them maybe, they rejected them all. Why? Because they want that one company that has rejected them. Instead of thinking that other people have so much difficulties finding proper jobs, they complain about the ones that they get so easily.

Today I said to myself :

1. ACCA is hard.
2. I don't care if I don't get an ACCA qualification.
3. I shouldn't be doing things that I don't enjoy.
4. I wanna stop studying accounting and find something else that I like doing.

Conclusion : I'm an ungrateful person as well.

Explanation :

There may be a lot of people put there who deserves this MARA loan more than I do. But maybe because of some unavoidable difficulties, they have to let it go. There are a lot of people out there who'd love to be where I am now, studying abroad and living in London. London kot, Melayu datang sini terus rasa diri tu mat saleh kot, hebat kot London. Sape taknak dok sini..? Haha. Still have room for sarcasm. Panjangnya conclusion.

So yeah, I won't be thankful with what I have now, not until I don't have all this any longer.

So you, big-brain, don't be so picky. You're not that big of a deal. Ramai lagi students pandai kat London ni.

A student's life..

"Heyy, I'm gonna start study now, better kick start the session with a cup of hot coffee, I'm starting to feel reaaaaaaaaaaaally sleepy from all that rice I had for lunch."

"OK, coffee, check! I think I'll turn on some music, to keep me awake."

"...can you believe itttt, as we're lying on the cooouuch, the moment I could see it, yes yes, I could see it now..."

*sluurrppp* *cringe* I need more sugar.. But the kitchen is so far away.. Mehhh..

Started to write notes...

Pumped Up Kicks started playing on the phone..

"Very catchy tune! I'm starting to like this song, I wonder if their album's any good.."

www.4shared.com.

"Wait, what's the name of their album anyway?"

New tab. www.wikipedia.org/fosterthepeople

"Oh, okay, Torches."

Back to 4shared tab.

"Hmmm.. Can't seem to find their album in here. Can't seem to find any albums in here nowadays! Screw you, 4shared."

Funny noise emerge from stomach

"Woohh, must be the coffee.."

www.aimini.net

"Pffft, now I have to download every single song one at a time. I may not even like all of them.. Might as well listen to the songs while I'm at it. I'll just take the ones that I like."

"OK, Warrant and Ruby weren't tha..." Funny noise from stomach...

"Gotta go!"

@#$%^&*()(*&^%^

"Hmm, when did I last clean the toilet. Might as well try that new duck-shaped toilet cleaning liquid now."

While cleaning the toilet.. "OMG BARU BERAPA AYAT TULIS TADIII.." Suddenly teringat Zac Efron nyanyi Pumped Up Kicks in Ellen. "Good song, good song."

Making a mental note to flush the toilet in 60 minutes.

"Hm, I wonder is it's already Asar?"

See microwave clock, it's Asar.

Ablution. Stare at face in mirror. Stare at bath tub. "I've got to remember to get a toilet brush tomorrow"

"Oh, I better make a list of stuff that I wanna buy tomorrow."

Solat.

"Pumped Up Kicks would be a great ringtone, if anyone ever calls me anyway. What's that app where I can make my own ringtone..?"

Searches for app. Found app. Download app.

Think about posting this story in blog.

Post in blog.

Study.

Ohh, that grocery list....

Accent?

Do any of you (if there's anyone out there reading this, anyway) have an accent when you speak English with someone non-Malaysian?

I tend to have this accent where I tend to soften my D's and my R's. To put it simply, I tend to speak English with my own version of American accent, I think.

I met this Indian lady from Mumbai, and she told me that she had lived in Jakarta for 9 years. That got me excited because I knew she must've picked up some Malay words, which technically are similar to Indonesian words. I asked her a lot of questions and some of it involved the word 'Jakarta'. The way I pronounced it wasn't 'Jakarta' but 'Jakarda'.. CEWAH!! American gituh! Siap tany pernah makan ayam penyet ke tak lagi tuh..

After some time I felt a bit embarrassed with myself for speaking that way but when I come to think of it, I was comfortable. I didn't feel fake or pretentious. But I can't speak that way with fellow Malaysians. Syok sendiri je nanti.

Why am I writing about this? Oh, I wanted to test out this Blogger app to see if it's any good. If it is, be warned. There shall be many impromptu posts coming.

Sometimes I feel like this blog is syok sendiri!

Hey here's a dandy picture I just made using various apps, because you know, I'm that creative.

Hey.

I just noticed that my last post was the first post in 2012.
So much for having a blog.
And I noticed that I have so many angry posts....
I hope nobody thinks I have issues...
Maybe I do...?

I'm craving for this at the moment. The black pepper chicken I just ate wasn't a remedy to this longing towards ayam penyet.

I can feel the tickling sensation of sweat coming out of my scalp just by looking at the chili.

The complexity of being a muslimah.

Often I wondered and asked myself, "Would things be a lot easier if I'm not wearing tudung?"

"Would people stop looking at me funny?"
"Would shop assistants be more friendly towards me?"
"Would people say 'excuse me' when I'm in their way on the streets, instead of just pushing me aside?"
"Would people stop looking down on me?"
"Would I be able to get a job easily?"
"What if I'm a guy, I could wear anything I want!"
"If I'm a guy, nobody would know if I'm a muslim, therefore people will not treat me how they usually treat a muslim."

Sometimes, I go "Why is it so hard being a muslimah?" "Why is life so hard for me, even when I'm doing what God tells me to do" (maybe sometimes not perfectly)

I asked a friend if it's berdosa to think those things,
She replied, "No, it's fine, I think it's normal, giving that we're living in the UK."

Maybe it's because I'm doing something wrong, somewhere.
Or maybe it's because I'm Asian? Haha.

To all of you out there, the tudung is just a piece of clothing that we wear daily, like you wear your jeans, or your hat or your scarf. Why would you treat me differently for wearing a tudung?

With tudung

Without tudung. Sama je kot?! Tak paham aku orang orang macam nih..

Lagi buruk ada lahh..

Friend.

I have kept these rants inside for too long.

If a friend asks what appears to be a "stupid" question to you ;

Do : answer them patiently. One person can not know everything, including you.
Don't : smack your forehead and ask them back "Haa? Tak tauu?". That'll make the person asking feel very stupid & ashamed of themselves for not knowing a thing that apparently every single living soul on Earth should know.

If a friend refuses to hang out with you ;

Do : understand their situation. Or know the fact that maybe it's your behaviour that makes them avoid you.
Don't : be pushy.

If a friend has became waaaaaaaaay slimmer than they use to be and you're jealous of her success ;

Do : keep quiet.
Don't : diss them by saying stupid things that makes it obvious that you really wanna be in her shoes and it also makes it apparent that you need to loss weight.

If a friend is having a relationship with someone attractive ;

Do : keep quiet.
Don't : diss them. You're alone for a reason, buddy.

If a friend is in distress and tells you about it ;

Do : have a little sympathy and say something comforting.
Don't : type "Hahaha" and complain about that yammering friend to another friend.

If a friend disagree with you about something ;

Do : be mature and understand that even friends can't agree on EVERYTHING
Don't : judge that person's choice.

Additional rants :

It's better for you not to preach something about Islam if you yourself are a judgemental, jealous and angry person.
Don't make it apparent that you're actually not happy for someone, you'll make no one look bad but yourself.
Choose your words before you spat them out.
Be a little sensitive with what you say to people. I know it's hard to do with your stone cold heart, but please try.

So called "friends".

P/S : It's not about just one person. :)

Hello, London.

Yesterday's flight was neither easy nor enjoyable.
Yes, I like the fact that I'm going to study at London.
Yes, I like the weather here.
Yes, I like to shop here.
But nothing beats me down more than having to say goodbye to my family, especially my Mama.

At first I was OK, despite the crazy hullabaloo when I found out that I have to pay RM2,846.45 for excess of 16kg untuk luggage. Ayah remained calm and collected. We sorted things out by the car and succeeded in getting rid of 13kg. Sorry Min, buat kabut!

Then, we went to McDonalds for breakfast. Wrong place to be at that time. The lines were long and the place was almost full. But we managed to grab a table farthest from the restaurant. I could tell Andi was a little bit stressed because he had to go and queue to buy the food.

It was 9.15 a.m. and Ayah told me that it was better for me to go to prevent any more troubles. So I hugged everybody. First, I hugged Mama. She said something that really touched my heart. "Mama rase macam akak nak pegi kejap je ni.." Wohhh, lepas tu terus air mata keluar la wehhh. Then I hugged Ayah, Andi, Hazim & Min. At this point, I really couldn't contain myself any longer. I couldn't stop crying, because I saw Mama cry. But still, tahan la air mata dari berjurai-jurai.

So, turun escalator, naik aerotrain, bought Sharir's cigarettes, and board the plane.

I cried my eyes out since boarding the plane until we land at Heathrow. Well, I did sleep like for a few hours. Most of the time, I miss my Mama. I think it's because we've grown closer when compared to my last trip to the UK. We talk a lot more nowadays.

It was the most suffocating plane ride I've ever been on. I've never felt so alone in my life. I needed to talk to someone but the two guys sitting beside me looked unfriendly.

What made it worst is that I chose to sit next to the window, which made it extremely difficult for me to get up and go to the lavatory or accessing my bag pack in the overhead compartment becaaaaause one of the guys sitting beside me was...sihat. Note to self, lepas ni duduk aisle seat.

Thank God that's over. Now I'm staying at a friend's cosy little flat. And a few more troubles awaits me. I'm skipping class today because I have so much to settle.

Ya Allah, please help me.
Keep my family safe.
Calm my heart.
Strengthen my soul.
Make me strong and patient.
Ease my burden.
Don't ever let me forget you.

This is a very depressing post.

Hope to see you again, Ramadhan.

22

I turn 22 today! Here's a picture of Jared Leto and a giant cracker

Charming, isn't he?

I'm flying off to the UK in less than a week and trust me, I'm not looking forward to it.

First, I may still be in a Raya mood at that time and having to stress myself over what has to be packed and what has been packed is not a thing one should worry about that time of the year.

Second, I will be going alone. I'm fine with the flying, although I must admit going through customs and immigration might be a bit scary. It's the registration at LSBF that I'm worried about. Before this, I have 5 of my friends with me so it wasn't very frightening. But this time, I'll be completely by myself without anyone to sesat with me! Gahhh, help me God.

Third. This is the hardest part. Saying good bye to loved ones. Guys, I really gonna miss all of you and I really hope you can join me in London soon! :) It'll be fun with all of you around, it's gonna be like a long-term vacation.

Other than those things, I think I'm all set to go. Yeay me. Go me.

Jasmin, before you go to the States to pursue your nannying career, I suggest you bring your ass to the UK and have a Euro trip with me first. Only after that, I will give you my consent. Comprende? Hehehehhe. Berangan pelis.

And as for you, dearly beloved, thank you for all the birthday gifts. Even though you're not the first one to call and wish me a happy birthday, you're still first place in pretty much everything else.

Hope I'll be fine over there. Ya Allah, protect me from harm.

Hallo Ramadhan!

Hey guys. Ramadhan's coming in two days and I'm excited because of the fact that there's gonna be tonnes of bazaar Ramadhan. I know that's a pretty messed up reason to anticipate Ramadhan but hey, I know a lot of people out there can't wait to go browsing for food, too!

So, I'm going away in a month time and I'm having mixed feelings on when should I actually fly to the UK. The offer letter states that I'm gonna be starting on 22 August 2011, but the class time table shows that there won't be any classes until the 1st September 2011. So I think the one week (lebih kurang laa) gap is for the orientation programme, which I am willing to attend, you know, to know some new friends, to get familiar with LSBF and etc. Also, I'm kinda excited to celebrate the 1st Raya in Malaysian Hall. I don't know if that's strange but Raya hasn't been a big deal for me since....5 years back?

But Dad said something last night and it made my heart melt.

Me : Ayah OK ke kalau akak nak pegi before raya?

Ayah : Kalau boleh ayah nak la beraya dengan semua anak ayah. Tak seronok la kalau ade yang takde.

Me : OKLAA OKLAAA AKAK PEGI LEPAS RAYA ='(

Howzattt? How can celebrating raya in Malaysian Hall beat that? So I might be going on the 2nd day of raya, which means that my friends won't be able to send me off at the airport, which is quite sad. Hurrhurrr.

Here are some random facts that I want to rant about :

1. What's up with people taking photos of their branded stuff and publish it online/show it off to people?

2. Saying 'thank you' is one thing, but you have to be grateful, too.

3. Biro Tatanegara courses are racist, one-sided, extreme and totally unnecessary!

4. Just get married already.

5. Some guys should stop being perverts. (Providing that us girls stop wearing stripper outfits when we go out hahahha)

All these rants are like reminders to myself (except for number 4) as well as reminders to those who I want to remind. Hah!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the beautiful lady standing beside me in this picture. She just got married yesterday! I wish her all the happiness in the world and may your new life gets barakah from Allah.

And now congratulations to me for my resignation from work! And now I'm looking forward to pursue my ACCA! The title 'chartered accountant' is what I'm aiming for next, besides from getting married hahaahaaa no I'm just kidding. I'm daydreaming about getting 5 digits salary before getting hitched, so that I can have a full-blasted English themed wedding. That means I have to work hard, play less, study smart & concentrate!

Berangan boleh, kan? Tapi kena usaha la :)

An exaggeration of a bad day

Today was the worst day so far in my working life.
Last week I did what I always do on the 10th of every month. I process the staff claims.
So I did the usual, list all the names, put in their bank account numbers, put in the amounts that they claimed for, upload the list into an online banking site, ask for approval from the directors, and the payments are released.
So it went smoothly and without problem. Or so I thought.
By the end of the week, I keep receiving calls from this former employee whose claim was included in the batch that I just processed.
She kept telling me that the amount that she gets is far less from what she submitted.
This does happen, but not that frequent. Sometimes they mistook their claim figure with another figure in their bank accounts, and sometimes they didn't go check at all.
So I didn't panic and I told her maybe there was a delay from the bank.
On Friday evening, as I was driving back home, another staff called, and informed me of the same issue.
By this time, I was all frantic and I texted my colleague who was still at the office, I thought of asking for her help to check the list that I made.
And to make things worse, she replied my text saying that SHE didn't get her claim AT ALL.
Yeay, happy weekend for me.

So, this morning, I found out that the bank account numbers of 18 people in the list got mixed up!
They ended up getting somebody else's claims instead of their own!
YYYYYYYYIIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
I panicked, felt like vomiting, crying, wailing, hiding because I was so very ashamed and all those worse feelings that you can ever imagine.
But what puzzled me the most was how can the bank proceed with the payment when it was undoubtedly obvious that the name of the beneficiary and their bank account numbers were not tally??
What the hell, Royal Bank of Scotland!? If you rejected all 18 payments, at least it would be easier because I could've just paid the people the exact amount they claimed for.
But noooooooooo, you just blindly pay them when it was so freakin' obvious that the bank account numbers didn't belong to the right people!
And then I had to spend like an hour figuring out who has been short paid and who received more money than they should!

So I asked my boss what I should do.
She's very kind and she helped me to sort this mess out.
But one thing that's driving me crazy is that when she gives instruction on what to do, the volume of her voice was 100% megaphone-loud.
Hey, I'm embarrassed enough about this even without you yelling instructions at me, or rather announcing to the whole office that I've made a huge mistake.
Thanks boss ;)

And then this technician came up to me and said, "Farah, takde salah masuk claim dalam bank account saye ke?"
What the actual f***?
He didn't even have claim in this batch, how the freakin' hell did he know? Maybe it was the announcement my boss made or maybe someone spread this issue all throughout the office.
Good news spread like wild fire in that office, and by good news I mean people's mistakes and by wildfire I mean in the speed of light.

So the conclusion is, I am ashamed and I've never felt this pathetic before. The end :)

Might I add a little bit here, I want to express my gratitude to the Superman who listened to me when I was crying like an over-sized baby over the phone and came to the rescue during lunch hour. Thank you! You made me feel a whole lot better about myself!

Monday to Friday

Monday :

As usual, the Monday blues strikes me again. Normally I would be OK by lunch break, but this time, I wasn't. It was mainly because, over the weekend, I've set my mind that I was gonna be on a half day leave on Monday, when it was actually on Tuesday. The realization came late at night and I got cranky from A.M. to P.M. Menarik bukan? So work was slow because my brain is still at home, sleeping.

Tuesday :

Even if I was on a half day leave, I still had to wake up at 6.30. I had an interview with MARA for the education loan I've applied for. So after much talking to myself whilst getting ready, I had a quick breakfast and Dad, along with Andi, drove me to Bangunan MARA. My interview was at 10 A.M. and I arrived there about 9.30 A.M. I signed the attendance list, and sat down. Funnily enough, the number of people there didn't match with the name listed in the attendance. I could call that good luck, then?

So the interviewers thought it was necessary to interview each person for an hour or more, which was totally stupid because I only got called at 12.45 A.M. The irritating part of the interview was the man didn't even wait for me to finish talking! He just blurted out his opinions here and there, which I find very rude and disappointing. I got out half an hour after that, which was worrying because everyone else before me got an hour of Q's & A's. Those who are supposed to attend the 12 A.M. interview were told to get their lunch first and come back at 2 P.M. Janji Melayu at its best.

I got back to the office on 3 P.M. and I thought that was a waste of time. I should've gone home and sleep my butt off.

Wednesday :

On a normal week, I would feel good on Wednesdays because it's the middle of the week which means that it's closer to the weekend. But on this day, all I felt was blah. I don't know since when, but I am now officially unmotivated to work in that company. I'm tired of the gossips, I'm sick of the scandals that's been going on between staffs, I'm utterly disgusted by the inside politics, I'm tired of my colleagues expressing their disappointment and their resentment towards the company every single day. I could say that it's not their fault that they feel that way, because that company is somewhat being unfair to the staff.

But on the bright side, I lost 2 inches on my waist and we had free lunch for today & tomorrow which will add back the 2 inches that I've lost! There was this supply chain meeting and there were some outside people involved in this meeting. So the company had to pretend that we're rich and nice so we ordered food for everyone. So fake but that's just my opinion. Yummah!

Thursday :

I've never seen my boss so stressed out. I heard it was all because of the meeting and something about stocks, not stocks as in shares but stocks as in inventories haha. But I was told that he brought the problem to himself. He didn't do much work and when things turned out to be a bit different than what he expected, he wouldn't know what to do. Also he likes to make decision on what other people should do without even discussing with them.

So he called some of my colleagues to join the meeting to help him explain matters that he couldn't explain. Some boss, huh? I heard murmurs of dissatisfaction from the cubicles of people that he called to join the meeting. After this incident, I kinda swore to myself that I'm going to resign, whether I get that MARA loan or not. Surprisingly, that night, my parents suggest that I resign, regardless of the result from MARA.

Oh yeah, lunch today was different. Admin ordered the food from another caterer whose food was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the one we had on Wednesday. I had my first otak-otak in a cup, which tasted a tad weird.

Friday :

The day of the week where all underpaid employees do less work and chat more, yeaahh, because we're already underpaid, why do more work on Fridays! Hhahahhah. Today, 3 people told me that they're leaving. And I told them I'm gonna be the 4th person to leave ekekekkek.
Nothing good about this Friday, except the Uncle Bob's fried chicken Andi bought at the pasar malam. So gooood...
